Cookies With Abbey!

So in February while we were out in Utah (yes, I know, I am running 2 months behind on blog posts...) we got to spend some quality time with Aunt Abbey!  Not only did she hang out with us on Ryan's birthday, and then again a few days later for his actual party, but in between those two she came over to my parents' house to make cookies with the boys!

Oh how those boys love their Aunt Abbey.  And cookies don't hurt, either!  While they were baking they got to go play outside together, too, which is always pretty exciting when you're coming from Minnesota in the middle of winter :)  I didn't get any pictures of the finished cookies, but they were these adorable shortbread cookies with jam in the center.  Abbey and I helped the boys make heart shapes for the jam to go in using their pinky fingers to make the hearts.  They LOVED the whole thing.  We love you, Abbey!  Thanks for spending so much time with us!  You're the greatest!

These pictures are so great.  I adore them.

Ryan SUPER excited that they get to make cookies with Abbey:

Adding ingredients--serious business:

Checking out the dough, plotting when to stick their hands in again next, I'm sure:

Getting an "official" taste at the end:

This was funny.  They were all going to jump off at the same time.  Ryan basically fell right off, Abbey got some serious air, and Calvin didn't even try:

Getting some consolation hugs from Abbey:

The boys giving Abbey some well-deserved love:

It's cute that Ryan has his coookie-making uniform on! Looks like they had fun with Abbey.

I love these pictures, what a good time. I especially love that first one. That could be a basement-decorating picture all on its own!
