Christy and Katie and Jane, Oh My!

So, at the end of July we got to keep Katie and Jane for 3 days while AnnaMarie was out of town. But guess who saved the day by volunteering to come down and help out for the week? That's right, Christy! Christy is the best. I know what many of you who don't know Christy are probably thinking. "The best? Yeah, sure." But seriously. She is so fantastically amazingly wonderful. She sweeps floors and does dishes in her spare time. She always has a smile on her face. She plays with the kids outside without complaint, even when it's so super hot and muggy. She honestly never took a moment for herself as long as the kids were awake or as long as I was working on something. I asked Dad if he thought you had to have 8 kids to get one as good as Christy. Jury's still out, but I'm thinking the answer is probably yes. Christy, I never would have made it with my sanity intact without you! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

Anyways, with Christy around, the 3 days of 5 kids 4 and under was definitely manageable. It was great, in fact, if you don't count bedtime. The kids had so much fun playing with Christy and playing with each other. It was funny to watch Jane and Sophie together. Jane just wants to go get Sophie wherever she is and Sophie was pretty much just terrified of Jane. It was pretty funny. It reminded me of the Katie/Calvin dynamic when they were almost exactly the same ages as these two.

Anyways, it was really fun to have the girls stay with us. I'm especially glad I got to spend more time with Katie. She was very well behaved, and I really enjoyed getting all the sweet happy Katie times. She was pretty much the least of my troubles. For the record, my troubles were getting Jane to bed, followed closely by the all-day, every-day ball of toddler craziness that is Calvin. Anyways, we really did have a lot of fun all together, and once again, Christy, you really were such a huge help!

Here are a bunch of great pictures of all our fun:

Jane, trying to figure out how to get that baby!

Little buddies:

I'm not ashamed to admit that these three did their fair share of this:

And this:

And this:

And I love this one of Jane getting crazy with the piano:

And I like this one of Katie and Calvin playing a song together:

Katie was a big help shaking up Jane's bottles for her:

And Christy and Michael doing their darndest to entertain Jane:

And here's Christy and the bigger kids playing out in the shade:

And last, but not least, some pictures from the impromptu dance party we threw in our living room when everyone had been in bed for 90 minutes and were still wide awake!

I love our children. :) Jane's huge head compared to little Sophie, how Sophie tucks her feet up to keep them out of Jane's reach, watching Diego through the bars of the crib...love it all!
