This is our new background

I'm making a post about the background, so that blogger will host it instead of me. PS. I didn't really write this in 2007

Shhh...they're sleeping

I was working on the computer and Ryan was playing in the living room. I noticed that he had climbed up his little push-cart and was playing with the nativity. He was being gentle, so I didn't interrupt him.

A few minutes later I hear him shushing, so I look again and the cow and the three wise men are all tipped over.

"Shhh, they're sleeping".

Of course, why didn't I think of that?

Several hours later when Caroline came home, the figures were still sleeping and we had Ryan stage this photo.

Funny 22 Month Old

So, as you all probably know, I have a very funny 22 month old. Who knows where he gets his ideas from, but he's just like his mom in that he usually tends towards saying before thinking :). Anyways, here are some of his more recent funny sayings.

He's been into his sense of smell lately. He was at my friend Sharesa's house on Wednesday and when I came to pick him up, she told me this story. He had a stinky diaper and Sharesa had just changed him. Of course, now the house smelled like stinky diaper, so she lit a couple of scented candles to make it bearable. A few minutes later, Ryan started walking around sniffing the air and said "It smells so GOOD!" over and over again. Then he was quiet for a few minutes and then started up again with "It smells so nice!" Yesterday he spent the day with my parents, and when he got back he told me "Grandma smells like flowers." What a funny kid.

Yesterday my Dad and Ryan and I went to go visit my Great Aunt Erma. I think Ryan is a little hesitant around old people at first, but he warmed up after a few minutes. My dad patted Erma's hand and told her "I'm glad you're doing well," and sure enough Ryan went over and patted her hand and said the same thing. Erma gave him a chocolate which he brought to me to help him unwrap. As I started unwraping it, he started to see the chocolate and he said "Wow, oh boy, gosh!" That one had me laughing for a while. Today when I shared a piece of candy with him he said "Boy that's yummy! It is YUMMY!"

He knows all kinds of verbs that I didn't know that he knew. This morning he was trying to get milk from his sippy cup into a regular cup and said "I want to pour it." Then he got a hymn book out and brought it over to me and said "I will pass it to Mommy."

A couple of days ago I was getting Ryan ready for a bath and working on getting him undressed. He was standing up and kept bending his knees which I found quite annoying since I couldn't get him to stand still....until he started saying "
PliƩ!" (the ballet term for bending your knees and doing something else that I don't remember). Then I just had to laugh at him.

The other night while we were reading family scriptures, Ryan kept wanting to see the baby so he'd look at my tummy and then he started saying "I want to snuggle the baby." So he'd cuddle up with his head right on my tummy and snuggle into the baby. It was pretty cute.

Well that's all the stories I have for now, but here are some recent pictures of Ryan:
